About Synthetic Oil Shop
We are very concerned about the cost of gasoline. We all would like to get more mileage to a tank of gas. I am using Amsoil 0-W30 35,000 mile Engine oil in my 2000 Buick Park Ave. with the 3.8 liter engine. I asked my Dealer ” What was the best MPG ever reported to him re: the Park Ave model” he responded” 30 MPG in one report, no others beyond 28 to 29″. The sticker on this particular model if memory serves me right, was at best 28 MPG. Most didn’t get that kind of mileage. I told him that I’m getting in excess of 35 MPG highway mileage in short 35 mile runs on relatively flat terrain and 26/27 local. A recent Florida trip, 2600 miles, I experienced a MPG of 31.3 with speeds in access of 70 MPH on Rt 95. He exclaimed “don’t touch it”.
You too can expect an increase in mileage with Amsoil Motor Oils. I don’t change this oil for one year. Our oil filters last one year or 25,000 miles. I had been looking and hoping for an automotive synthetic oil for my automotive needs since I served in the Air Force and worked on Jet Fighter Aircraft, F-94, F-80, F-86F, & finally the F-84F. All used synthetic oil in their engines as do all jet aircraft.
One enterprising member of the flight crew put a quart of this used aircraft oil, ($28 to $35 dollars a quart) in a 1946 Plymouth (not recommended) while stationed in Alaska. All the vehicles on the base had engine block heaters installed because of the frigid temperatures, without one, you didn’t start your vehicle. This Plymouth with just one quart of the synthetic aircraft oil mixed with the petroleum oil started without an engine block heater. We were all amazed and I never forgot it.
In 1979, I came across some information about Amsoil and I anxiously jumped at the chance to use a synthetic oil. I got my wish as I found a company willing to create a synthetic oil for automotive use. Amsoil was the first company to have a 10-W40 engine oil approved by API for automotive use. “The First In Synthetic Oil” slogan was created and it is still first. It is a designed lubricant, not refined, for every application which makes it unique.
I have a friend in Lancaster PA who drives a 1982 Volvo with over 580,000 miles recorded. He travels about 23,000 miles a year and changes his oil once a year as I do. He trusts Amsoil. So do I and you could too.
