- AMSOIL Ea Air Filters allow more airflow than filters that use cellulose media alone. Cellulose fibers are larger than nanofibers, and have larger spaces between the fibers, causing contaminants to load in the depth of the media and plug the airflow path, which results in higher restriction and less capacity. The synthetic nanofibers in Ea Filter media have submicron diameters and small interfiber spaces, which result in more contaminants being captured on the surface of the media and lower restriction.

- Cleaning
- Ea Air Filters should be cleaned every year or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. Carefully remove the filter from the housing. Clean the housing with a shop towel, being careful not to knock contaminants into the air inlet. Filters can be cleaned by carefully vacuuming the filter media on the dirty side, or by holding the filter with one hand and carefully blowing the filter media at a 45-degree angle on the clean side using low-pressure shop air (15-20 lbs. psi).
- Service Life
- AMSOIL Ea Air Filters are guaranteed for four years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The guarantee applies only if the filter has been serviced according to AMSOIL recommendations. In off-road, frequently dusty or other severe-duty applications, clean and change more often as determined by operating conditions or as indicated by restriction gauge.

Founded in 1939, the Gastonia, N.C., company earned acclaim during World War II when it created an oil filter out of a paper tube, wooden plugs and yarn when steel was in short supply. - Superior Construction
- WIX oil filters have a full metal base plate for superior strength at the double seal. They also feature a silicone anti-drainback valve that stays flexible in extreme temperatures. This improves oil flow and keeps oil in the filter to prevent dry starts.
WIX oil filters use an up-front by-pass valve. This design is superior to top-mounted valves because it helps to keep oil from washing past dirty media and entering the engine. The glass-enhanced media in WIX oil filters offers greater efficiency, capturing more 10 to 12 micron sized particles than other cellulose/synthetic blend medias. They also have a coil steel spring to ensure internal filter parts are sealed properly.

AMSOIL EaAR Filters are specially designed for racing and street rod enthusiasts who desire AMSOIL Ea protection in carbureted applications. AMSOIL Ea Racing Air Filters are constructed with the same synthetic nanofiber media as other AMSOIL Ea Air Filters.
AMSOIL custom EaAR Filter assemblies are designed for racing applications. They incorporate good looks and excellent air flow in addition to the high efficiency afforded by AMSOIL Ea nanofiber technology. These custom air cleaner assemblies are designed for use with carbureted engines that use a 14″ round air cleaner housing. The kits feature the common 14″ diameter carburetor plate, air filter and high air flow lid along with a 2″, 3″, 4″, 5″ or 6″-high filter. - AMSOIL Racing Air Filters are designed to replace stock cellulose, oil-wetted gauze or foam filters. The nanofibers in EaAR Filter media have sub-micron diameters and small inter-fiber spaces, resulting in more contaminants being captured on the surface of the media. - Quick Cleaning
- AMSOIL EaAR Air Filters are cleanable and long lasting. AMSOIL recommends cleaning EaAR Filters when designated by the restriction gauge if the vehicle is so equipped, or according to operating conditions. In dusty conditions or in high-performance vehicles, more frequent cleaning may be required. Ea Air Filters may be cleaned by vacuuming the media on the dirty side or using low-pressure shop air on the clean side. AMSOIL recommends cleaning EaAR Filters as conditions dictate.

- What Are Pre-Filters?
- Ea Pre-Filters fit over the top of existing air filters. These polyester mesh bags feature an industrial grade elastic band at the opening to ensure the pre-filter does not slide off.
- Why Use Pre-Filters?
- Racers and off-road enthusiasts subject their vehicles to some of the most severe conditions possible. These vehicles operate in areas of heavy dirt and mud that gets slung into every crack and corner, often clogging air filters. AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters are designed to keep larger particles from getting into and clogging the pleats of air filters. When an air filter is clogged, the engine loses horsepower and, in the case of Ea Air Filters, the filter must be cleaned. There is no vacuum or compressed air available on the race track or out in the swamp, but an Ea Pre-Filter is easily removed and shaken free of debris in seconds.
- AMSOIL EaPF
- AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters are constructed with woven mesh that contains uniformly-sized openings. They are oil-free, so the dirt will not stick to the bag and create a loss of air flow and horsepower. Several Ea Pre-Filters are treated with a hydrophobic water repellent process that helps prevent moisture from damaging air filters. This proprietary process is done at the mill as the pre-filters are created, not sprayed on, so there is no loss of air flow. While Ea Pre-Filters are effective in repelling water, they are not waterproof.
Ea Pre-Filters prevent particles down to 0.005’ from getting to the air filter without significantly reducing air flow. Particles larger than 0.005’ generally just fall off the pre-filter.
Will Not Block Air Flow
AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters will not cause any significant reduction in air flow. In fact, AMSOIL EaAU and EaAR Filters allow more air flow than the engine can process, so adding an EaPF will not prevent a more-than-adequate amount of air flow from entering the engine.Cleaning Instructions
To clean AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters, shake off any excess dirt and, if necessary, soak in soapy water. After soaking, agitate the EaPF to remove any remaining debris and grime, shake off any excess water and air-dry. Ea Pre-Filters used in racing applications should be inspected after every race to determine whether or not they require cleaning. Ea Pre-Filters used in regular applications should be cleaned every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters should be changed every six to 12 months, or as conditions dictate.

The nanofiber technology causes submicron contaminants to be held on the surface layer of smaller fibers. This filtration characteristic is only possible with this new type of air filtration technology. In on-highway applications, where the contaminant is primarily submicron in size, Donaldson Endurance filters cause less restriction than conventional filters with cellulose media. The smaller interfiber spaces of nanofiber technology have a higher efficiency and capture more contaminant.
Imagine two filters, a chain link fence and a mosquito net, with a tennis ball being a dirt particle. As you may have observed, a tennis ball will fit quite nicely into an opening of a chain link fence, but will obstruct the hole almost 100%. Now imaging the same tennis ball covering a mosquito net. The tennis ball, at the point of contact with the netting, will obstruct much less filter area than the chain link fence example. In fact, air will flow around the tennis ball all the way to the point of contact. It will take many more particles to obstruct the netting surface area than the chain link fence.

- More Cold Air = More Horsepower
- The basic purpose of the air intake system is to bring cool air from outside the engine compartment into the engine. The cooler air is denser than the air found within the hot engine compartment. The denser charge contains more oxygen than warmer air, providing better combustion through a more effective air/fuel mixture.
Another advantage of most specialty-equipment cold air intakes is their consistent diameters and the absence of sharp bends, both of which help to eliminate turbulence in the air stream.
- Large and Growing Market
- According to research done by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), a new air intake system is among the first modifications a consumer makes to his or her vehicle. Since changing the air filter alone cannot eliminate air restriction built into the vehicle at the factory, replacing the factory air flow assembly includes replacing the filter, air box and air path. SEMA reports sales of air intakes are over 300,000 every year.
While intake kits were initially sold only for performance-type applications, they are now also being marketed and used as a way to boost fuel economy in SUVs, minivans, trucks and more.
- AMSOIL EaAU
- AMSOIL Ea Air Induction Filters fit most of the popular intake systems available. They provide improved cold air intake and a level of engine protection only an Ea Filter can provide. AMSOIL is currently offering nine Ea Air Induction Filters with varying lengths and widths. These filters have flange IDs of 3″, 3.5″, 4″, 4.125, 4.5 and 6″. Since these filters offer a universal fit, AMSOIL provides the dimension sheet below that customers can use to determine the proper filter for their applications.
- Cleanable
- AMSOIL Ea Air Induction Filters are cleanable and long lasting. AMSOIL recommends cleaning the Ea Air Induction Filter when designated by the restriction gauge if the vehicle is so equipped, or according to operating conditions. If it is used in extremely dusty environments or in a performance vehicle, more frequent cleanings may be required.
- Cleaning
- Carefully remove the filter from the housing. Clean the housing with a shop towel, being careful not to knock contaminants into the air inlet. Filters can be cleaned by carefully vacuuming the filter media on the dirty side, or by holding the filter with one hand and carefully blowing the filter media at a 45-degree angle on the clean side using low-pressure shop air (15-20 lbs. psi).
- Unique Design
- To increase filter surface area and the volume of air entering the engine, the top of many popular Ea Air Induction Filters (EaAU) is cut away. The media is inserted in a conical form pointing toward the direction of airflow.
- Quality Construction

The nanofiber media is pleated with epoxy-coated wire on the face and back of the media for additional strength and stiffness.
